About Us

Guasábara Creaciones is an artistic collaboration project founded by the Puertorican brothers Hiram and Cruz Edgard Vázquez Cordero."Ever since we can remember, we've been artists. We've been faithfully practicing art for over 25 years," says Hiram.

Cruz Edgard is certified as a Graphic Designer by ICPR Junior College and studied 2 years at Atlantic College. In 2006-07, Hiram asked his brother how digital graphic design and Photoshop worked. Cruz explained the basics and suggested learning the rest through tutorials. Since then, with many tutorials and hands-on practice, Hiram gradually mastered digital graphic design.

Both brothers are multidisciplinary artists. Cruz Edgard works in drawing, painting, tattooing, pyrography, and graphic design, among other forms of art. Hiram, on the other hand, focuses primarily on graphic design, board game design and development, digital drawing, crafts, cosplay, and writing short stories and poems.

At the end of 2017, after the disaster that was Hurricane María, Cruz Edgard relocated to the United States, but this didn’t affect their constant communication. Over the last two years (2022-24), their bond has grown even stronger.

During one of their conversations, Cruz Edgard mentioned he wanted a coworker to customize a Funko Pop of the Puerto Rican wrestling legend, “El Acróbata de Puerto Rico,” Don Carlos Colón. Hiram encouraged him to try customizing it himself, which led Hiram to personalize the Funko Pop’s box. This sparked their interest in customizing WWE Superstars action figures (Masters of the Universe style). 

One day, Hiram suggested sharing their creations on Instagram, an idea that Cruz Edgard loved. In 2019-21, Hiram had been modifying Hot Wheels cars inspired by the Gaslands board game, set in a post-apocalyptic Mad Max-style world. He had already created an Instagram account to share his modifications, but due to other responsibilities, he hadn’t been able to dedicate enough time to it. When the idea came up, they decided to use that account for their new project. Thus, Guasábara Custom was born, which later evolved into Guasábara Creaciones.

Currently, they have their own line called Legends of the Square Circle, which specializes in hand-drawn trading cards and the customization of WWE Superstars action figures and Funko POPs. This line is a tribute to the heroes of the wrestling ring whose feats and skills have entertained thousands of professional wrestling fans. Their next big project is a comic, expected to be released in early 2026.
